The Workers of Wisconsin was founded to serve the meat processing industry with reliability, expertise, and personal service. From day one, we've helped customers purchase new equipment, repair existing machinery, and stock the right parts to keep production running without interruption.
Our story began with John Alferi, who started The Workers after selling his previous company, Alferi Laboratories, to Kerry Foods. In 2012, Fred and Khemika Bubolz took the reins, bringing a background in information technology that expanded our capabilities beyond meat processing and packaging equipment. Today, our expertise also includes network support, digital scales and labeling systems, and advanced inspection technologies such as X-ray, metal detection, check-weighing, and vision technologies.
In 2014, Fred connected with Chris Maestranzi of Biro of Chicago, Inc. through NAFEDA (National Association of Food Equipment Dealers), leading to their first joint project in 2015. Over the years, the partnership grew, blending The Workers' strength in the processor industry with BCI's supermarket expertise
By May 2024, The Workers and BCI officially merged, combining inventory, skilled technicians, and decades of knowledge to serve Wisconsin customer better than ever.
At our core, we remain a small, family-oriented business dedicated to being there when you need us most. Whether you're dealing with a machine breakdown or exploring new technologies, we're here to lend a helping hand and guide you forward.
